Data Privacy Policy

Scope of Validity

This data privacy statement explains to users the type, scope and purposes of the usage and collection of personal data by the responsible provider of this website (hereinafter “website”), Guest-One GmbH, Laurentiusstraße 35, 42103 Wuppertal, info@g1.de, +49 (0) 202 371610.

The legal basis of data privacy can be found in the Federal Data Protection Act (Bundesdatenschutzgesetz, BDSG) and the German Teleservices Act (Telemediengesetz, TMG).

Access data/server logfiles

The provider (or their webspace provider) collects data about every access to the website (so-called server logfiles). The following is considered access data:

Name of the website called up, file, date and time of the retrieval, data quantity transferred, notification about successful retrieval, browser type and version, the operating system of the user, referrer URL (the site visited beforehand), IP address and the querying provider.

The provider uses the log data only for statistical evaluations for purposes of operating, making secure, and optimising the website. However, the provider reserves the right to inspect the log data subsequently if there is justifiable reason to suspect unlawful usage based on concrete indications.

Contact

When users contact the provider (for instance, through a contact form or e-mail), the information provided by the users shall be stored for the purpose of processing their queries and in case subsequent questions should arise.

Comments and posts

If users leave comments in the blog or other posts, their IP addresses shall be saved. This is done for the security of the provider should anyone write illicit content in comments and posts (offences, forbidden political propaganda, etc.). In this case, the provider itself can be prosecuted for the comment or the post and therefore has an interest in the identity of the author.

Comment subscriptions

Users can subscribe to subsequent comments. Users receive a confirmation e-mail to verify that they are the owners of the e-mail addresses specified. Users can unsubscribe from current comment subscriptions. The confirmation e-mail will contain information regarding this process.

Inclusion of services and content from third parties

Third-party content, such as videos from YouTube, map material from Google Maps, RSS feeds or graphics from other websites, may be included as part of this online website. The prerequisite for this is always that the providers of this content (hereinafter referred to as “third-party providers”) be able to detect the IP addresses of users. That is because without the IP address, they cannot send the content to the browser of the user in question. The IP address is thus required for the presentation of this content. We make every effort to use only such content whose providers use the IP address solely in order to deliver content. However, we have no influence on whether the third-party providers store the IP addresses, for instance, for statistical purposes. To the extent to which this becomes known to us, we shall inform users accordingly.

Cookies

Cookies are little files which make it possible to store specific device-related information on the access device of the user (PC, smartphone, etc.). On the one hand, they serve to increase the user-friendliness of websites (e.g. saving login data) and therefore benefit users. On the other, they serve to record statistical data regarding website usage and use them to improve the website. Users can influence the use of cookies. Most browsers have an option for restricting or completely preventing cookies from being saved. However, we would like to point out that usage and especially usage comfort are restricted without cookies.

You can use the American website http://www.aboutads.info/choices/ or the EU website http://www.youronlinechoices.com/uk/your-ad-choices/ to manage many online ad cookies from companies.

Google Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analysis service from Google Inc. (“Google”). Google Analytics uses so-called “cookies”, text files that are saved on the computers of users and which enable an analysis of the usage of the website by users. The information produced by cookies about users’ usage of this website is generally transferred to a server operated by Google in the USA and stored there.

Should IP anonymisation be activated on this website, however, Google shall truncate the IP addresses of users within member states of the European Union or other states party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area beforehand. Only in exceptional cases shall the complete IP address be sent to a server operated by Google in the USA and truncated there. IP anonymisation is active on this website. On behalf of the operator of this website, Google shall use this information to evaluate users’ usage of the website, to compile reports about website activities, and to provide additional services related to website usage and Internet usage to the website operator.

The IP address transmitted by your browser to Google Analytics shall not be merged with the other data from Google. Users can prevent cookies from being stored by configuring appropriate settings in their browser software; however, this website hereby informs users that in this case they may be unable to use all functions of this website to their full extent. Additionally, users can prevent the data produced by the cookie and related to their usage of the website (incl. IP address) from being recorded and sent to Google and from being processed by Google by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available at the following link: http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=en.
